HHS Senior Wins Trip to Italy in Video Contest
Howell High School’s Audrey Chu was selected by the Italian American Committee on Education (IACE) as a winner in their recent video contest. Students were encouraged to create a multi-media project in Italian on the topic, “L’italiano al cinema- L’intaliano nel cinema.”
Audrey, a senior in Carmela Kearns’ Advanced Placement Italian Language and Culture Class, created a winning submission and will have the opportunity to study the language, culture, and history of Italy in Terni, Italy for two weeks.
IACE is a New York based non-profit organization founded in 1975 for the purpose of promoting the study of the Italian language and culture within the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The IACE program is made possible primarily through an Italian Government grant and operates under the supervision of the Consulate General of Italy in New York.
